Are online reviews really that important?

Are online reviews really that important?

Online reviews are a very important part of any business. While you may think that your website and Facebook page speaks for itself, many people won’t make an appointment with you or use your services because of their fear of going to the chiropractor. So what can you do? You need to ensure that your online reputation is positive, or at least neutral. Here are five reasons why:

Consumers look at online reviews before visiting a business.

A 2021 PowerReviews report found that over 99.9% of customers read customer reviews when shopping online. Additionally, 96% of customers specifically look for negative reviews. A significant increase from 85% in 2018.

Online reviews are the most trusted source of information, even more than personal recommendations and salespeople.

Reviews help increase local foot traffic.

Reviews are a powerful tool for attracting new patients. Reviews have been shown to increase local foot traffic, even when the reviews were negative or neutral. This means that even if you have some less than stellar reviews on your profile, there may still be potential customers who are interested in visiting your practice based on the information they’ve read.

Reviews help you get more business from existing patients as well! Patients who feel well-treated by their dentist will tell others about their experience and recommend them to friends and family members looking for a dentist in the area – and this works for chiropractors too!

Bad reviews can cost you patients.

We’ve all been there: you’re looking for a doctor, and you find one with great reviews. Then you read the negative ones and wonder what could have happened to cause such a reaction. The answer is simple: patient experience is important.

A bad review can cost you patients. Negative reviews may lead to a drop in conversion rates – the percentage of visitors who convert from visitors to patients (or leads). They may also lead to a drop in new patient appointments, repeat visits by existing patients, and referrals from other providers or community members who have given you their stamp of disapproval via social media posts about their experience with your office.

Online reviews can help your search engine rankings.

Online reviews can help your search engine rankings.

If you have a positive review on a popular review site, it will help boost your site’s reputation and increase the likelihood that someone searching for similar products or services will find yours first. In contrast, if there are negative reviews about your business posted online, this could negatively impact how well others rank in search results.

In order to maintain high ratings on review sites like Google Business Profile and Yelp (and avoid negative ones), make sure to respond promptly when customers leave feedback about their experience with your chiropractic office – both good and bad! You may want to assign this task to one of your CAs or rotate it among the team members in your office. We don’t recommend commenting publicly to negative reviews. It is better to contact the dissatisfied individual privately to attempt resolving the issue.

People trust online reviews more than ads.

In fact, people are more likely to trust online reviews than any other source of information about a business. In the Local Consumer Review Survey 2023 by BrightLocal, it revealed that 76% of consumers “regularly” read online reviews when looking for local businesses, compared to 77% in 2021.

Consumers place a high value on business reviews in the following industries: the healthcare industry, automotive services, and service businesses/tradespeople. This is why getting those online reviews are very important for a chiropractic office.

And you know the best way to get positive reviews? It’s actually very simple. Go above and beyond to ensure that each patient that comes out of your doors has the best experience! You’ll have no problem asking them to rate you on Google or Yelp.
